FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The five-day candidate filing period, May 15-19, for local elected offices is nearly underway.

Clallam County residents that wish to file for office should first review the “Elections Guide for Jurisdictions and Candidates” available on our website. This guide has important dates, contact information, and rules for local candidates and ballot measures.

File your Declaration of Candidacy online, it’s fast and easy. If you are unable to file online, you may file in person, by mail, or by email/fax.

The Online Candidate Portal will stop receiving and processing declarations at 4:00 p.m. sharp; all submissions must be filed and completed by 4:00 p.m. on May 19. Please contact our office if assistance is needed for the Online Candidate Portal.

In person or by mail submissions must be received in our Elections and Voter Registration Office by the close of business on the last day of Filing Week. The Election staff will be available during business hours (9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) to help with in person filing, as well.

Candidates that file online can pay with a credit card, the Auditor’s Office accepts payment by cash or check only.
